Every year the Community Services Support Foundation
receives multiple requests for mini-grants which are used
to fill gaps in services, programs or supports for the people
served by the Agency. As the Foundation continues to grow,
the greater the IMPACT these mini-grants can have and the
higher thenumber of requests that canbe awarded. Here are
just a few of the awards granted in 2015. The Foundation is
proud to have helped these dreams become reality and looks
forward tonext year’s applications.
Music Therapy for Seniors: This program helped Seniors living in the one of
our residences connect with eachother through the power ofmusic.
TheSocial Spot: Offers opportunities to connect onlineandwithothers in the
community, the Social Spot is located outside our Snack Attack, run by those
we serve.
BusTokens: For those livingon their own in the community, it isoftendifficult
to get aroundwithout reliable transportation. Bus Tokens were given out to
helppeople get to job interviews, medical appointments andmore.
Smoke Alarms: These were distributed as ameans to help keep everyone in
the communitywho receives our support, safe.
Due to the tremendous success of theMobileWork Crew’s ability to
provide quality landscaping services, their equipment was unable to
keepup. Theyneededanew lawnmower, trailer tomove it around to
each locationand supplemental supplies tofinisheach job. Supplying
the Crew with these tools had a direct IMPACT on the number of
jobs they could take. Over the past year, the landscaping services
grew tremendously. This not only provided quality services to our
customers but also had a positive IMPACT on the Crew members,
increasing their confidence andpride in their abilities.
